We started our journey with essential oils looking for the best aromatherapy diffuser to use  with peppermint and lavender essential oils. We bought our first diffuser for our bedroom, thinking it would be good. It started giving us problems, so we began our search again hoping to find a good diffuser.

After searching on Amazon, we purchased the SpaRoom AromaMist Ultrasonic Diffuser Mister. One thing we liked about it is that it runs quietly and since we were using it in the bedroom, our sleep wouldn’t be disturbed. That was a major point since we were getting it to help us sleep better. Would this be the best aromatherapy diffuser? Read on and see what I have to say about it.

Benefits of The SpaRoom AromaMist

This diffuser takes the essential oil and mists oil particles out into the air (See my article on what essential oils are used for.), which we then inhale and the smell sensor in our brain is stimulated. For instance, in our case, diffusing lavender oil stimulates the calming sensor in our brain, thus bringing a state of relaxation making for better sleep.

The SpaRoom AromaMist Diffuser Description and Features

This diffuser is round and has a main body with an air outlet and a water tank in the body. The water tank has a maximum fill line and will hold about 115 ml. of water. In the bottom of the water tank is a ceremac disc. There is a cover to go over the body and water tank. On the top of the cover is the mist outlet.

On the outside of the body are two buttons, a light button and a mist button. The mist button lets you choose how you want to use the diffuser. The light button lets you turn the light on and chose a light mode to display. This diffuser is electric and comes with an AC adapter. It comes in black, white, and silver.

The suggested room size for use is 150 – 200 sq feet. The product dimensions are 6.5 x 6.5 x 5.8 inches. It weighs about 1.3 lbs.

Using The AromaMist Diffuserspa room aroma mist

Find a nice place to put the diffuser where the mist can flow uninterrupted. Remove the cover and fill the water tank with cool water (possibly use bottled water) to the max line. Add a few drops of chosen essential oil. Only a few drops are needed for aromatherapy; if you want a stronger aroma add a few extra drops of your oil! Place the top cover securely back on. Plug in the adapter to the diffuser then plug the other end into the wall outlet.

Now, you have 3 choices as far as the mist. If you press the button once it will continuously mist for 3 hours. If you press the button twice, it will mist for 6 hours, intermittently (on and off every 15 seconds). If you press the button a third time, the mist will shut off. We use the intermittent at night when we go to bed, or actually most times we use it. We want the aroma to last room aroma mist

To use the light button, press it once to turn on the LED lights on for rotating colors. Press it the second time to stop it on one color. Press the third time, and the lights shut off.

The diffuser shuts off automatically when the water tank gets empty. You can then add more water and start all over again. As you can tell, this diffuser is very easy to use.

Is This Diffuser For You?

That is a good question. This would be a good diffuser for a person just getting started. It’s very simple to operate. Not really any fanciness to it. Just knowing how to push a button is all it takes. It would also be a good addition to someone who is looking to add a diffuser to another room. From a beginner to an expert, this would be the one.

Where To Buy

If you’re looking for a diffuser and this one sounds like it’s a good fit for you, you can find the AromaMist at Amazon. There are several colors to choose from, and you can see reviews from others who purchased it. Looking at the reviews, you can see why it got 4/5 stars.

What I like About The AromaMist

One of my favorite features of this diffuser is that it gives you a choice to have it run continuously or intermittently. If you run it intermittently, it saves on oil. And it is so quiet you can hardly hear it. I like the quality. It’s not all plastic, but it is made of metal except for the water tank. It looks like it would be expensive, but, in fact, it is reasonably priced. The stability of this diffuser is a plus for me. There’s no way to tip it over.

What I Don’t Like About This Diffuserbig living room with windows

The suggested room size to use the AromaMist is 150 – 200 square feet. This is good for a bedroom and small rooms, but if you need it for a bigger room, the aroma of the oil might not spread to the whole room. The mist on this diffuser doesn’t go as high as I like, so it’s only going to spread so far. We use ours on the longest setting which is only 6 hours. I would prefer it had a longer misting time, like maybe 10 hours, or maybe one more setting that made it go off and on every 30 seconds.

My Final Opinion

Overall, I would rate this AromaMist diffuser at 4/5 because of the few things I mentioned. This diffuser does a good job in getting the particulates of the oil into the air, which in turn brings the benefits that are needed from a diffuser.  Could this be the best aromatherapy diffuser for you?

The AromaMist Ultrasonic Diffuser Mister by SpaRoom, in my opinion, would be a great choice, if you’re looking for a diffuser.  Purchase this diffuser HERE . If this review was helpful and you have a question, or you’ve purchased the AromaMist, leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

As always, thanks for reading!

  1. My wife love the essential oils normally she boils water on the stove. This sounds like a better option so I will share this review with her. Thanks for sharing the pros and the cons on this diffuser review.

    1. Glad to hear from you, Tracy! Boiling water is an option if you don’t have a diffuser. I believe the water would cause a lot of humidity in the house, though, and the heat affects the chemical compounds of the oil which causes it to lose the therapeutic value. The oil is not as effective. I think the best option would be a diffuser. You can find some good ones reasonably priced, like the one in the review. Thanks for reading, and please do share with your wife and come back and let me know what she thinks.

  2. I was happy to see you rated this 4/5 because my sister just gave me one for my birthday, but I haven’t tried it yet. Great information on the diffuser. Thank you so much! I will definitely let you know how I like it!

    1. Hi, Babsie!
I think you will really like this diffuser. I forgot to mention in the article that we liked it so much, we purchased another one. We have one in the bedroom and one in the living area. It really is a great diffuser, and it’s so quiet you can’t even hear it running. You’ll be pleased when you use it and, yes, please let me know how you like it and what oils you used in it.

  3. How gorgeous. I can almost smell the aroma from here
You have explained this diffuser really well and I must go take a look on Amazon
    I will be back

  4. This diffuser seems awesome, I have actually never used one before, but I have heard a lot about them. Don’t know much about essential oils either, but now that I am here, let me search your blog for info about those too. Thanks

    1. Mitala,
I’m glad you came by. This diffuser is pretty nice. Very reliable for us. One thing I didn’t mention, was that we bought one and decided we like it, so we purchased another one. The first has lasted us, I believe, about 2 years so far. Please do read my blog. I think you’ll find some interesting things, especially if you don’t know too much about essential oils. Come back and let me know what you think. Thanks for reading!

  5. Great review, I’ve only just started hearing about diffusers –
I suppose I’m like you at ‘the start of my journey’ I too have my 2 scents I like, Jasmine and Lavender and that’s about all I’ve stretched to.
… I never realised they were so large either., anyhoo thanks for sharing, I’m going to take a look at a few on Azon too.

    1. Thanks! We have not tried Jasmine yet, but it’s one I’m interested in getting. What do you use Jasmine for? I take it you don’t have a diffuser yet, so I was wondering. As far as diffusers, you can find some that will run intermittently for 10 hours or so and the mist is released higher in the air. We actually have one of them that I may be talking about in the future. If you find one and purchase, let me know about your experience with it and how you like it.
